Privacy notice
How we handle personal information, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires.
Who we are
Plumbline Accounting Inc. (Plumbline) is the responsible party for personal information we process. Our information officer is the director on duty, reachable at hello@plumbline-accounting.co.za or 011 447 3190.
What we collect
When you book a chat or become a client: your name, contact details and the details of your business. As a client: identity and tax numbers, financial records, payroll information about your employees, and anything else we need to prepare your books and returns.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry, to provide the services in your written agreement with us, to meet our legal duties under tax, companies and anti-money laundering law (the Financial Intelligence Centre Act), and to keep you informed about deadlines that affect you. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
SARS, CIPC, the Department of Employment and Labour and other bodies when the law or your instructions require it, and trusted service providers such as our accounting software and secure cloud storage, under written agreements that protect your information.
How long we keep it
Tax and accounting records are kept for at least five years after the relevant return, as SARS and the Companies Act require, and then destroyed securely.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use for marketing. You may also complain to the Information Regulator at inforeg.org.za.
This website
This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics. The tax calculator, tax calendar and booking form run in your browser: nothing you type is sent to us or stored.
